When we say that we provide newborn and postpartum care for all modern families, we truly mean it. We simply love supporting families, no matter what they look like. Today is National Reading Day and it kicks off our weekly blog on children’s books for every walk of life!
Here are a few we love:
A Tale of Two Mommies | This sweet book tells a story of a young boy playing with friends when they ask him questions about his Mommies. Children are curious and want to ask innocent and practical things like, “Which mom is there when you want to go fishing?” This book is intended for 4 to 8 year olds.
A Tale of Two Daddies | This book is by the same author of A Tale of Two Mommies and tells the tale of a little girl being asked questions about her Daddies by a little boy. With questions like, “Which Dad cooks you eggs and toast?” you find that families with two Daddies are the same as any other household. This book is intended for preschool age children.
The Different Dragon | This book is about a curious little boy who helps one of his Moms create a bedtime story. The author is very subtle about the simplicity and normalcy of a family that just so happens to have two Moms. This book is intended for 4 to 8 year olds.
Uncle Bobby’s Wedding | Little Chloe worries that she won’t be her uncle’s favorite anymore, when she hears the news that he’s getting married. She learns that she’ll always be Uncle Bobby’s #1, but gets to also gain an extra uncle in the process. This book is intended for 4 to 8 year olds.
And Tango Makes Three | Two penguins at the Central Park Zoo wanted a family so with a little help from a zoo keeper, Roy and Silo got a baby penguin to raise as their own. Book comes with a CD as well, narrated by Neil Patrick Harris. This book is intended for 4 to 8 year olds.
Mommy, Mama, and Me | A toddler spend the day with his Mommies. Loving families have so much fun together! Short, sweet, and easy to read. Intended for 3 to 7 year olds.
Daddy, Papa, and Me | Such a sweet story written by the same author of Mommy, Mama, and Me. It shows the loving bond between a little boy and his Daddies. Intended for 3 to 7 year olds.
